Typical Greek style breakfast joint with what seems like a unlimited menu. Tried it because its been a McHenry County staple for years. I wont be going back for breakfast, ill stick to Brunch Cafe, but I will try lunch and dinner.

Great breakfast! It is served all day and the menu its decently priced. I recommend the gyros omelette if you like the sandwiches. Seems that there is a regular crowd there, but I enjoy the atmosphere

I took my family to Andy's for dinner, we've never been there and after reading reviews here I was excited. Unfortunatley the hype didn't live up. At best, I found the food to be similar to that of hospital cafeteria food. I started out with soup that was okay but nothing to write home about. For my entre I had turkey with home made stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, and cranberry sauce. The turkey was not fresh, the potatoes were stiff and tasteless, the cranberry came out of a can, the gravy came out of a package and the stuffing was so over seasoned with sage I couldn't eat it. The staff was friendly, warm and made us feel at home. The place was full when we got there and there was a waiting line for tables. I really wanted to like this place but when I pay money to eat it's all about the food and I'm sorry to say after the meal they fed me I won't be going back.

We're new to the area and have found Andy's Diner to be a friendly, busy, good food place to go. We especially like their whitefish which is hard to find. Service is good, reminds one of older experienced waitresses who've been there for years and knows everyone. The menu is large and varied and food portions are generous, often enough for another meal at home. Prices are very reasonable and they will make substitutions and tailor your order to your liking. Its one of our favorite spots.

I'll NEVER go here again. Went on a Sunday around 11:30 with my sons and stood at the "please wait to be seated" for 5-10 mins before all three of us got impatient and walked out. NOBODY took the time to seat us, or ever acknowledge us. I saw one, then two, then three tables open, people walking around, and us being treated as if invisible. If you like to be stood up and ignored, not to mention the difficult parking enjoy yourself. I hadn't been there in a couple years and WILL NEVER waste my time again be left high and dry.

Always liked the place, good food, reasonable prices, good portions. Hadn't eaten there since spring. Recently went back, new décor, new menu, higher prices, smaller portions. Was really disappointed. Moving & won't be back, but if I was staying, would probably find another local place, sorry. But on a good note, the waitresses are great !

Not horrible, but the worst breakfast place I've found in C.L. (Benedict's The Olympic, and Brunch Cafe in McHenry are my rotation - this place can't hold a candle to any of them) - a little dingy, decor right out of 1983 (although I can see how that would be part of the charm to people who love this place) BAD cheese in Omlet (tasted like Kraft singles) and menu was a little nickel and dimey (50 cents for this, 25 for this, 75 cents for this substitution....just raise prices $2 across the board - you'll make more $ and people won't feel like you're being nickeled and dimed.). Again - if someone insisted on going there, I'd go - but it would never be my first choice in town.

Favorite restaurant in town. Have been coming here for many years. Excellent service and delicious home style food. I love the wraps - and my daughter likes the broiled fish. The chicken and rice soup is to die for!!!! The atmosphere is cozy & warm and the staff is friendly & attentive. Sometimes we get take out and it's all neatly packaged and bagged within minutes. A Crystal Lake treasure for sure.

First time experience and it was horrible! I found a hair in my food, immediately sent it back, and the server apologized and said "it happens". I didn't finish my meal nor am I ever going back. DISGUSTING.

I no longer order eggs from any other restaurant. I like my eggs soft scrambled, and that's what they give me..EVERY TIME! They also have the freshest tasting eggs! I would eat every meal here if I could! I adore this place!

I've been going here since I was a kid so they all know me there, the staff is super friendly and the food is outstanding, great for family traditions because it has a cozy feel, I love it.

I have had great experiences every time that I have gone into Andy's. My wife, daughter and I ate here this past Sunday. We got there at rush hour...10AM on a Sunday. There was just a short 5-10 minute wait and we were seated in a comfy booth. The family that runs this place does it in a very happy way. Everyone that greeted us from our entrance in the door to the bus boy taking away our dirty plates did so in a I like to be here working and serving you good food kind a way. This means a lot!! If their happy, then I as a customer will be happy too! My wife had her usual ham & cheese omelet, while I tried the Grecian Delite Skillet with gyro meat...both were very tasty. The Grecian skillet came with a side cup of Tzatziki sauce & this mixed perfectly into the skillet. I would highly recommend trying this! Overall this place does it for me. We have decided that this is our new go to for diner food, replacing Around The Clock.

Nice local Greek diner. A lot of the Crystal Lake locals come here, and for good reason. Good food and service with a smile. We often get the same waitress and she'll crack jokes and always greet us with a smile. Good food as I said, try the Greek-style chicken. Cash only - they have an ATM inside though.

I have been going here for a long time! Never have I had a bad experience. Great food and great people!. I started going here with the family and we ended up always getting the same booth! As I got older I started coming with friends after classes at the Community College. The wait staff if suoer friendly and have been the same since I can remember. I have had Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner here and never been disappointed by the quality of the food. Nothing is better than a family owned diner! Please try this place out, you'll love it!

Great family diner. Breakfast is very good (pancakes instead of toast for no extra charge, crispy shredded hash browns, good eggs). Burgers are decent too. They now accept credit cards.

I am posting this for my 3 year old son. He loves "Angies' Pancackes" ! It has been our Sunday tradition for some time to have breakfast at Andy's and get Pancakes and Dino Eggs. The ham off the bone in the morning is perfect on the Eggs Benedict with tons of hollandaise sauce. A heart stopper, but worth it. Really, anything with the ham in it i rocks. The waitstaff and owners are like family ... it is like going to a really busy home of your inlaws and all their guests. It is THE local spot in Crystal Lake.

Landing at O'Hare after an overnight flight from Honolulu, I was starving. Why didn't I eat on the plane? Conked out on the new lie flat seat/beds in first class, very comfy, a little too comfy. Was heading from Chicago to Madison, so I thought I'd stop en route and get a tasty breakfast on the back roads, and my back road of choice to Madison is US 14, so I hit Andy's Family Restaurant in Crystal Lake, IL. Over ordered, not a surprise, went with the Chicken Fried Steak and eggs, the place was jammed, but service was prompt and friendly, they have had lots of practice, this place has been around for years. Played "butter Jenga" while I was waiting, scarfed the meal and hit the road. Great place.

I like the small town diner atmosphere and the wait staff was very friendly. But, the food was just ok, I was hoping for better as this place was rated in the top 5 breakfast places in McHenry county. I had the ham steak & eggs. Kinda on the bland side, even the hashbrowns were just ok, coffee was typical weak diner stuff. I would try this place again, but choose a different dish and hope for more flavor.

Have eaten here multiple times mostly for breakfast which has always been amazing. But just recently had their corn beef and cabbage during St. Patricks Day and again top notch. The staff is always friendly and very good at their jobs. The place is always packed but always worth any wait. Plus it's always great to see Andy himself sitting at the counter mingling with the customers. I highly recommend this place and will continue to come again and again to enjoy their wonderful food.

Andys and Benedicts La Strada are my 2 favorites restaurants in the Crystal Lake area. I really love Andys ham off the bone and their bisquits and gravy. Always great service.

I've been going there since I was 10 years old. 14 years later I'm still a faithful customer. Great service and great food all for a good price! Their breakfast and soups are definitely my favorite!

This place is A-OK, but not really anything more, to be honest! It was somewhat of a mystery coming here because there was no online menu, and no pictures uploaded to Yelp (don't worry, I fixed that--at least for the breakfast menu). What are we--f&*%ing ANIMALS?! I rely on those online menus ;) My friend doesn't live far from here, so it was suggested for our monthly breakfast. It was a far drive for me, so I was hoping it would be worth it. Meh... The service was STELLAR--both the hostess (also who you pay CASH ONLY to at the end) and our waitress were wonderful. Our waitress was an older woman who was very sweet and really funny. The prices are phenomenal as well. That's about where the good stuff ends. Our food was just mediocre at best. I ordered the Extreme Supreme Skillet (tons of different meats and veggies in a skillet) and the side of pancakes instead of toast. I got my overeasy eggs on the side. Hashbrowns on the bottom of my skillet--barely cooked and warm. The veggies were OK. The cheese that comes on top of it wasn't melted at.all. (see pictures). The pancakes were not great, and the eggs were SWIMMING in grease under them. I stopped eating them because they were so "wet". My friend's french toast was just ok (and this from the girl who wanted to come here). The omelet another girl got was overcooked. She had asked for her hasbrowns crispy, and they came out...done.Which is more than I can say for mine. Another dining companion of ours got the breakfast sandwich, and the has browns she got were completely white. Really not cooked at all. The chocolate chip waffle looked/tasted good, though. I would definitely not come here again. There are much better breakfast options in the area that serve food that is actually cooked. It was a cute little place, though...hopefully they were just off their game that particular day.

Been here a few times over the years. Only for breakfast. I think for the price and quality its one of the best breakfast joints in Crystal Lake. There is usually a wait on weekends, parking can be a pain although they do have a lot across Dole Ave. Still worth it. My favorite is the chicken fried steak with gravy and eggs.

I have been coming to Andy's for a long time. It is the best diner in McHenry County. Great breakfast. Their breakfast skillets can do no wrong. Good biscuits and gravy too (homemade of course). For lunch stuff you can never go wrong with a cup of their homemade soup. Their cream of chicken rice is creamy heaven. Burgers, sandwiches, salads, you name it they got it and it always has that homemade taste. This is a restaurant worth supporting. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. A Crystal Lake gem!

They make a nice little breakfast here. I also enjoy the broccoli soup. What I do not enjoy though, is the parking. I know it's not really under their control, but they have a lot across the street, and it's a pain to get in and out of.

For this place, the feature that makes it AMAZING is the service! We walked in and were greeted promptly. The waitress was extremely friendly and welcoming. As my sister put it, "I just want to hug her!" When we would ask for something extra or substitution, she responded, "Hon, they can do whatever you like." Also, if your in to the true diner experience, this is the place to go. When people would walk in the wait staff would greet them by name. Almost made you feel like family!

Always good food and super clean! It gets busy but you don't typically wait long. There is plenty of parking now across the street so don't bother trying the back lot.

Met my parents here for lunch after reading the reviews on Yelp and I wasn't disappointed. The place was constantly busy which is a good sign for me and good turnover as our party of four plus a highchair was seated very quickly. The menu was typical Greek diner/restaurant fare plus they serve breakfast all day. The owner even came around to all of the tables to check on their service and she told us that they opened the restaurant 28 years ago. The food was very good and served hot. The portions are large and the hash browns were not greasy and the omelot I ordered was perfect. Everyoneelse liked their meals as well. They are kid friendly as well. We will definitely be returning. One thing wirth mentioning - they accept only cash - no credit cards.

This is my favorite breakfast place to go in the Crystal Lake area. they are always really nice here and the kids love it when the owner comes out and gives them a half-dollar out of his apron and says hello. The pancakes are the best around, the eggs are always cooked PERFECT and the sausage links are killer! very peppery but thats why I love em. even on sunday mornings we never seem to have to wait long for a seat and we always leave FULL

Not the most yogic breakfast but yummy, filling & lots of calories to now go work in the yard. Two eggs over easy, hash browns, sliced tomatoes, bacon, two little side pancakes - that good ol' diner breakfast that's nice to have every once in a while. Thumbs up!
